5 reasons to partner with us

In all areas of the EEF’s activity, partnership working is core.

We work closely with our grantees and with the independent evaluators to design robust, ‘real world’ trials. And we work closely with other funders who share our mission of breaking the link between family income and educational achievement.

Since 2011, approaching £30 million has been gifted and pledged by a range of organisations to help extend the reach of work the EEF is funding. Find out more below...

Here are our 5 reasons to partner with the EEF:

Knowledge

The EEF’s work is focused solely on raising the attainment and broader outcomes of children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. This has led to us being designated by the UK government as the What Works Centre for Education.

Expertise

We have developed a great deal of knowledge in identifying, evaluating and scaling high-potential approaches and programmes. We are funding more randomised controlled trials (RCTs) in education than any other organisation globally, and have commissioned more than 10 per cent of all known trials in education around the world.

Reach

The EEF is the biggest charitable funder of work in schools, nurseries and colleges, with more than one-third of all schools in England involved in an EEF-funded project. And two-thirds of senior leaders use our research to inform their spending decisions, according to an independent survey.

Impact

Promising Projects funded by the EEF have enable students to make +3 months of additional progress in a year; these projects particularly benefit students eligible for free school meals, who make on average +4 months’ additional progress. The lifetime gains for students taking part in EEF trials amounts to three times the cost of delivering and evaluating them, according to independent analysis.

Leverage

Our founding grant from the Department for Education enables us to match-fund donations from our partners. This means a bigger funding pot, attracting a better range and quality of applications, and enabling us to extend the reach and scope of our work together.
