Head of Dissemination and Impact
Stu leads the Dissemination and Impact team at the EEF. The team's work includes EEF’s approach to supporting schools to use evidence to support school improvement from resources to support teachers to use guidance reports and the Toolkits, through to regional support and training focused on supporting disadvantaged pupils. He is based in North Yorkshire.
Stu joined the EEF in February 2017, and since then has been involved in the development of the Research School Network and the EEF’s approach to mobilising evidence. Drawing on his background around professional development, implementation and making change at scale, Stu has supported the development of training around Putting Evidence to Work: A school’s guide to implementation.
Before joining the EEF Stu spent 10 years at the Department for Education, providing policy advice on teachers' professional development, evidence-based teaching, the use of teaching assistants, and primary pedagogy. Stu has also previously been a school governor, most recently as the Chair of Governors at a small primary school in Scarborough.
