About the Measure
Domains | Mental health and wellbeing, Social and Emotional Competence |
Key stages | Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Key Stage 5 |
Subscales | Hostile; Adaptive/Appropriate; Inappropriately assertive/Overconfident |
Description | Similar purpose to that of MESSY (see above). However, it reflects changes to the latent variable of social skills since the MESSY’s inception over three decades ago. The social repertoire of children and adolescents since that time is likely to have changed, thereby resulting in the need for a re-norming of the measure. It also possesses only a parent-caregiver form - no teacher nor self-report. |
Example | Talks a lot about problems or worries |
