Applying research in the context of your school is crucial. The video below discusses using the evidence to support your school’s aims.

2.2: Your school's context

One crucial part of applying the research is evaluating the way that TAs are currently being used in your school. School leaders should make an assessment on the effectiveness of current practice in relation to the evidence. Below is a Red Amber Green (RAG) self-assessment guide that school leaders can use to assess current practice. The guide is used throughout the course as a way of helping schools reflect on their current practice and capturing improvements.

An important part of self-assessment might be conducting lesson observations. Below is a TA observation schedule that should allow senior leaders to collect data that will aid their understanding of how TAs are deployed in classrooms across their school.
