In this Voices from the Classroom’ video, Victoria Moore – Deputy headteacher at Usworth Colliery Primary School – and Jack Warner – Year 5 teacher – explain why improving problem-solving in mathematics has been a priority for their school and the strategies they have used to improve in this area.

Victoria highlights that problem-solving is an integral part of the national curriculum.

Jack gives an example of a genuine problem-solving task and states that
