In 2022, the EEF received funding from the Evaluation Task Force (Cabinet Office/HM Treasury) and its Evaluation Accelerator Fund (EAF) to facilitate the creation of resources and pilot the process to enable researchers access to the archive.
The project included the creation of a data catalogue and synthetic datasets for projects held in the EEF data archive.

The work package also included the commissioning of two secondary data analysis research projects that used EEF archive data and piloted the process of accessing and linking it with administrative datasets (NPD, HESA, ILR).
