Nick leads EEF’s policy development and policy engagement work.
Nick joined the EEF in 2021. He leads EEF's policy team, which works to ensure that national education policy is grounded in high quality evidence. This includes working closely with policy makers and education stakeholders to support them to embed evidence in their work, as well as overseeing EEF's engagement with the Department for Education and professional development providers to ensure that national teacher development reforms are underpinned by high quality evidence.
Prior to joining the EEF, Nick worked as a senior adviser in the Department for Education's Strategy Unit, focusing on areas including school funding and education recovery, and in the department’s behavioural insights team, which seeks to apply behavioural science to education policy. Nick has also previously worked as a secondary maths teacher and for an education NGO based in sub-Saharan Africa.
