Nick leads on the EEF’s policy development and liaison work.
His role includes liaising with the Department for Education and other national and international policy organisations, and leading evidence projects. Prior to joining the EEF, Nick worked as a senior adviser in the Department for Education's Strategy Unit, focusing on areas including school funding and education recovery, and in the department’s behavioural insights team, which seeks to apply behavioural science to education policy.
Prior to joining DfE, Nick spent three years as a maths teacher at a secondary academy in Bristol, before moving to Uganda to work for an education NGO, running a network of secondary schools in sub-Saharan Africa.
