Rosanna (Rose) joined the EEF in January 2023, bringing her passion for evidence-informed practice and extensive experience in leading evidence reviews within the social sciences. In her role at the EEF, Rose manages systematic reviews in a range of areas and also supports externally commissioned review teams. Rose also leads the EEF’s Core Components project. This work aims to build a taxonomy of intervention components and then use this to explore the “active ingredients” of educational approaches and support our evidence generation work.
Before joining the EEF, Rose worked as a post-doctoral researcher on EEF-funded research projects, including the ‘Cognitive Science in the Classroom’ review and the ‘Improving Working Memory + Arithmetic’ trial. She completed her PhD in 2020, in which she conducted applied psychological research in schools, focussed on understanding emotional intelligence and stress regulation in adolescents. She has also worked as a University psychology lecturer.
