Rapid evidence assessment on attendance interventions for school-aged pupils

This rapid evidence assessment examines the existing research on interventions that aim to improve pupils’ school attendance and the characteristics of these interventions, based on a systematic search of existing literature.

We searched for impact evaluations published since 2000 that evaluated an intervention with a primary goal of increasing school attendance and that reported on a measure of pupil attendance or absenteeism. 

This review aims to map the evidence and to inform grant making decisions for a funding round on programmes and interventions in this area, in collaboration with the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF).
