Privacy notice for schools involved in the NELI scale up evaluation

Introduction

This privacy notice describes how EEF will use your contact details, if your school has opted-into the NELI evaluation.

Your contact details will have been collected by the Department for Education (DfE) as part of your school’s expressions of interest to register to take part in delivering the Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI).

This page should be read in conjunction with our privacy notice main page which covers information relevant to anyone whose data is used by the EEF.

Purpose and lawful basis for processing

The EEF are commissioning an independent evaluation of the programme that schools can choose to participate in.The purpose for collecting your contact details from the DfE is to enable the evaluator to contact you with information about the evaluation.

The processing is necessary for the purpose of fulfilling EEF’s legitimate interests. These legitimate interests include commissioning and supporting an evaluation to measure the long-term impact of the NELI intervention.

What we need and why we need it

If the school has opted into the evaluation, we will collect your name and email address from the DfE. We will then sharethis information with the evaluator, RAND, for the above purpose. Please see RAND’s privacy notice on their website for more information about the evaluation and how they will use your information.

How long we keep it

We will retain your contact details until the end of the project in Summer 2023. At this point your contact information will be deleted.

What are your rights?

As we are processing your personal data for our legitimate interests as stated above, you have the right to object to our processing of your personal data. There are legitimate reasons why we may refuse your objection, which depend on why we are processing it.
